Description
ELECTRYFLYING OVER A SLALOM COURSE
The latest performance to be competitive and winning the most important racing tours. 9.0, 8.0, 6.9, 5.8 and 4.7 are the slalom sizes for foiling. Meeting the Pwa and Defi Wind requests where foiling will be run on a racing foil courses in suitable foil conditions.
DESIGNED FOR
Windsurfing foil slalom performance seekers, who love to slalom race with latest developed dedicated technology.
WHAT’S NEW
Having implemented 3 different eyelets at 5cm apart from each other. The sail best position is the middle eyelet, and for lighter wind the upper one can be used, or to depower the back hand further, the lower one can be used. The boom has been shortened further on all sizes to have lighter sail in the hands and no back hand when powered up. The luff has been widened further by 5cm in the small sizes and 7cm in the bigger 2 sizes increasing the forward drive stability and power in light wind. The batten shapes have been reworked to bring further forward the profile. The head of the sail has been made smaller for a lighter feeling and less drag. A new negative leach design has been included in the final project from batten 5 to batten 2. Allowing a new faster speed and release in stronger winds. A cut out is implemented between batten 6 and 5 to allow a faster S-shaping of batten 5 when the gust hits the sail, stabilizing further the profile and acceleration. The base has been re-shaped and lowered by over 10cm to allow the maxim gap closure on the board, without disturbing the maneuverability.
DEVELOPMENT TARGET
Designed to have the latest performance to be competitive and winning the most important racing tours. 9.0, 8.0, 6.9, 5.8 and 4.7 are the slalom sizes for foiling. Meeting the Pwa and Defi Wind requests where foiling will be run on a racing foil courses in suitable foil conditions.
ITS CHARACTER ON LAND
It’s a winner just from looking at it! The front deep profile with a wide sleeve keeps the eye awake that it’s all about racing. A batten set up, to flatten out profile on the exit of the sail to delete the back hand when powered. 7 battens, 3cams are now a trademark in the Point-7 racing sails. The outline is high aspect, having a shorter boom and a long luff. The base is cut low to offer a perfect close the gap, but not too wide to fit fast jibing, and sailing also with a normal fin and slalom board.
CAN IT BE USED ON A TRADITIONAL FIN?
The F1 can be used on wider slalom boards as a compromise. Our AC-One remain our pure dedicated pure Slalom sail.
ITS CHARACTER ON WATER
STABILITY! Leaving the beach, the sail will totally feel light in your hands. Crank up the throttle and see how you will only feel the foil on the water as the sail will feel like it disappears in your hands. It’s what is called stability! The F1 allows us to focus on the pressure on the foil and enjoy the high speeds, eliminating control issues and annoying backhand. With the 3-cam the rotation is light and smooth.
DEVELOPED AND DESIGNED BY
#born07. The Point-7 Black Team. A team of professional sailors and designers who have proved themselves by designing the winning PWA tittle sails in Slalom, Waves and Freestyle.
DEVELOPED TARGET
Life is a race. Not only testing the sail for straight-line speeds, but also checking how the sail would perform to offer the best comfort when foiling. Comfort on the straight line, power to always keep control. Power stability to keep the foil flying in total stability to let us focus on the race.
RIGGING
The F1 needs to have the mast inserted on top of the cams. After pulling downhaul to 15cm of its final setting you can either put on the boom, and later pop on the cams before putting the final downhaul on, or place the cams on with the right technique, pulling on full downhaul, and then putting the boom on. You will find more instructions and videos on the support section on our website. Playing with the outhaul will boost up power or increase control. Tighten the battens just to let them follow the natural profile of the sail. without overtightening them.
